EU Customs Reform (UCC reform proposal)

Etsy supports the Commission’s goal in the Customs Reform to strengthen the legal framework for customs and simplify the customs processes for businesses. We deem it imperative that any upcoming measure avoids imposing onerous trade burdens on small businesses, in particular microbusinesses who are often individual creatives, artisans or makers. Enabling small businesses, in particular microbusinesses, to sell online and cross-border is crucial, as these businesses contribute significantly to the EU's economic recovery and growth. As such, our main priority is to support a revised legal framework that simplifies customs processes for all stakeholders involved in the logistics chain, without discouraging or precluding small businesses, in particular microbusinesses, from selling online.
