  • Beschreibung der Tätigkeit:
    WaterAid's vision is a world in which all people, everywhere, have access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene infrastructure. As one of the leading international organizations in the sector, we use our expertise to work alone and in partnership with others to ensure that by 2030, everyone everywhere has access to clean water, adequate toilets and good hygiene infrastructure. Our four goals are interlinked and complement each other. They are prioritized according to the circumstances of the country and the region in which we operate, and are equipped with transparently calculated resources. 1. Equality - We will fight the inequalities that prevent the poorest and most marginalized people from realizing their human rights to clean water, sanitation and hygiene. 2. Sustainable services – We will support governments and service providers to strengthen the systems and capabilities needed to deliver sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene services. 3. Integration – We will work with others to develop plans and activities that accelerate change through the integration of water, sanitation and hygiene into sustainable development. 4. Hygiene - We will positively influence the opportunities for hygiene behaviors to maximize the benefits of access to clean water and sanitation. Through direct letters, position papers, or events, direct contact is sought with politicians, particularly members of the German Bundestag, as well as employees and representatives of the ministries. The main focus of the lobbying efforts is to strengthen development cooperation in light of the current extraordinary challenges and to highlight the importance of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) for achieving the 2030 Agenda and the Paris Agreement. Additionally, exchange and information events are organized, regularly inviting members of the German Bundestag, BMZ (Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development), BMUV (Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection), AA (Federal Foreign Office), BMG (Federal Ministry of Health), GIZ (German Agency for International Cooperation), and KfW (KfW Development Bank) to convince them of our positions.
