  • Beschreibung der Tätigkeit:
    For the purpose of advocacy, GARDP works to raise awareness among policymakers in Germany of the global threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and to highlight the need for sustainable public investment in research, development and access to antibiotics. To this end, GARDP is holding discussions with members of the German Bundestag, representations of the Federal Government and relevant federal ministries in order to promote political and regulatory framework conditions that improve the development and access to needs-based antibiotics, especially for vulnerable population groups in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The focus is on building a sustainable policy environment for research and development models oriented towards the common good as well as on the positioning of antibiotics as global public goods. GARDP prepares and submits position papers, participates in specialist events and parliamentary formats, and participates in consultation processes on national and international AMR policy. Targeted information and dialogue formats with political decision-makers are also initiated in order to provide scientifically sound impetus for legislative processes, funding strategies and international cooperation in the field of global health and antimicrobial research.
